Home Scout, LLC is a company created by Katy Denman, of Springfield (in Fairfax County), Virginia. A Navy wife for 16 years, Katy has personally house hunted 11 times for her family, including two times in Northern Virginia. She has lived in Springfield for more than 8 years and knows the D.C. metro area well. She has house hunted in the D.C. metro area numerous times for military friends who were unable to travel here.

It's important to differentiate Home Scout, LLC's role in your house hunting process. Home Scout is not a real estate agency. It is much more akin to a "personal shopping service" for homes. We act as YOUR eyes and work with you to find the property you want. But we charge a flat fee; we don't work on commission. We have no incentive to steer you toward a particular property. Home Scout is also not an inspection service. Although Katy and friends have experience looking at houses and apartments and may well catch potential problems, we are not licensed to identify problems such as faulty wiring or termites.

So what can Home Scout, LLC do for you? We know the local D.C. metro area and can help you gain knowledge and understanding of the properties available through digital photos, frequent phone contact, questions and answers. We'll do our best to answer YOUR questions that you will have about a property, based on our personal visits there. We'll be your "eyes." We can tell you not only about a house or apartment, but the neighborhood, commute, local schools. Even if you are able to house hunt here, we can help. If you have limited leave time, we can preview and narrow your housing choices, maximizing the efficiency of your house hunt. (See our Testimonials page.)

Whether you plan to rent or buy, Home Scout, LLC can help you with your house hunting. We'll work with you to help you find the home you want in the D.C. area.
